Healthcare
Oxygen concentrators depend on oil-free compressors that run for hours every day, often in patients’ homes. We supply the repair parts and ASME pressure vessels that help keep healthcare equipment in service.
Healthcare Applications
Oxygen concentrators run for hours every day, so dependable compressors matter to the people who use them. The compressors inside these devices are small oil-free units, and like any compressor they wear over time. Replacing worn components such as piston cups, cylinder sleeves, valves, and gaskets can keep a device in service without replacing the whole unit.
Common healthcare applications for oil-free compressor parts and pressure vessels include:
- Stationary and portable oxygen concentrators used in home healthcare, including devices built around Thomas, Gast, and GSE compressor platforms
- Durable medical equipment (DME) providers and biomedical service teams maintaining fleets of oxygen concentrators in the field
- Original equipment manufacturers sourcing replacement components for their compressor-driven devices
Because many of these devices run daily for patients who depend on them, downtime means patients wait longer for working equipment. Fast access to the right replacement parts is an important part of keeping healthcare equipment in service.
Pressure vessels also have a role in healthcare equipment. Our custom ASME “U” and “UM” stamped designs, together with sourcing through seven ASME pressure vessel manufacturing facilities worldwide, can supply air storage where a compressed air system calls for it. We coordinate vessel sizing, materials, pressure ratings, and port configurations with the manufacturer.
Oil-Free Parts for Oxygen Concentrators and Healthcare
We supply repair kits and parts for the oil-free compressors used in oxygen concentrators, along with related design and service work:
- Repair kits and individual parts for Thomas, GSE, and Gast oil-free compressors used in oxygen concentrators, covering piston cups, cylinder sleeves, gaskets, flapper valves, and motor/eccentric bearings
- Parts identification help for DME providers and biomedical technicians who need to match a repair kit to their concentrator’s compressor
- Air compressor design consultation for manufacturers developing new oil-free compressor designs or extending the service life of an existing one
- Air compressor service and remanufacturing, from top-end rebuilds to total rebuilds with motor and eccentric bearings, for oil-free compressors
- ASME “U” and “UM” stamped pressure vessels, plus sourcing support for compressed air systems
Behind these parts is the same engineering that goes into all of our compressor work. Our design team applies patented cooling methods, innovative cylinder sleeve finishing technology, and advanced piston seal materials to oil-free compressors, and our remanufacturing team replaces wear components such as piston cups, cylinder sleeves, valves, gaskets, and bearings. Compressor rebuilds can be top end only or can include the motor and eccentric bearings for a total rebuild.
Application Example
This hypothetical example illustrates the parts side of our work and does not describe a specific customer. Imagine a durable medical equipment provider that services a fleet of portable oxygen concentrators for home patients. Technicians spend extra time tracking down individual components for aging units, and repairs take longer than they should.
A provider in this position can simplify its workflow by working with us to match repair kits to its most common concentrator compressor models. We would help identify the compressors and supply piston cups, cylinder sleeves, gaskets, and valves so technicians can keep the right components on hand for the models they service most.
The right mix of kits and parts depends on the models in the fleet, so we start with a list of the compressors involved and go from there.
